Haiti Outreach Ministries

For 35 years, Haiti Outreach Ministries (HOM) has been sharing the message of God’s
goodness with the people of Haiti through a holistic approach that addresses spiritual, mental, physical, and economic needs. HOM’s thriving ministry operates with its valued Haitian partner, Mission Communautaire de l’Eglise Chretienne des Cites (MICECC), ensuring as founder Leon Dorleans says, “Haitian solutions to Haitian problems.” The vision of HOM is to develop self-sustaining communities that help people become the individuals that God intended them to be.

Despite the many challenges faced by the country and her people, God is at work in Haiti! Our programs and staff are embedded within the communities served, fostering a relationship of trust and accountability. HOM serves over 40,000 Haitians per year in the following key areas:

  • Evangelism: Over 3,200 people gather for worship at churches on three campuses. HOM has raised funds to build these churches, provide pastoral stipends, and provide for Vacation Bible School.

  • Education: Nearly 1,900 students are enrolled in HOM’s three elementary schools and one secondary school, where they receive a superior education in a values-based, Christian environment. HOM’s student sponsorship program provides critical funding to cover school costs and offering US supporters the chance to fundamentally impact the life of a Haitian child.

  • Health Care: HOM operates a health clinic which offers essential medical and dental services in an area where there are few options. The clinic sees approximately 12,000 patients annually. HOM also provides access to clean water, with 900,000 gallons of water distributed annually.

  • Economic Empowerment: Over 500 adults are enrolled in the vocational school, gaining marketable skills in information technology and sewing/tailoring. The Espwa Campus, currently under development, will serve as a hub for job training and business
development as well as house a new Bible College to train and equip future generations of ministry leaders.
