Christian Medical and Dental Association

The Armisteads served at a mission hospital in Pakistan for 16 years, returning to Richmond in 2015 when Dr. Scott began as staff worker for the VCU chapter of the Christian Medical and Dental Association (CMDA). 

His goal is the formation of these students as followers of Jesus in health care so that they might know God and embrace the purposes of God in living missionally, with a heart for the poor and the unreached, both locally and globally; in living faithfully to Christian ethics in an academic setting often unwelcoming to their views, and living joyfully in knowing they belong to Jesus and to one another.  He is able to take CMDA students to Pakistan twice a year for month-long electives to encourage them to embrace the call of Christ to the poor and to the unreached.

Scott and JoAnn have three married sons.
