Day 4: Saturday, February 21

Welcome

In silence, close your eyes, take a few deep breaths, and settle your body. Remember, the truest thing about you today is that you are held in the love of God. Rest in that love.

Opening Prayer

Almighty and everlasting God, mercifully look upon our infirmities, and in all our dangers and necessities stretch forth your right hand to help and defend us; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Reflection

  • As you read the passages for today, was there any word or phrase that caught your attention? Why might the Holy Spirit have given you that word or phrase today? Take a moment to reflect.

  • As you consider the passage and what struck you, what feelings were provoked? Is there something you want to praise God for, thank God for, ask God for, or talk to God about? Speak honestly to God as your heavenly Father, knowing that he hears and delights in you.

  • Sit quietly and allow God to work in the stillness of your mind as you rest in his love and his presence. When you’re ready, continue in prayer.

The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory for ever. Amen.

Sending

As you go into your day, may you welcome the people who will be a part of this day. May you greet God in ordinary and hidden moments. May you gratefully live the life that God has given you. May you know and claim that you are loved.

In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, Amen.
