Dwell: The One and Only

For Meditation

On this fourth Sunday of Advent, as we look back at Jesus first coming and continue to long for his second coming we’ll be looking at the fourth phrase from John 1:14, “the glory of the one and only Son.”

What does it mean to be the one and only? Certainly, it means to be unique, to be like no other and to be one of a kind. We see this in the story of his birth, through his life, death and resurrection. We also see this in the way that Jesus relates to his heavenly Father, in such a way as no one else could.

Jesus is truly the one and only of the Father and because he is we celebrate his birth and worship him with our lives. Not just in this Advent and Christmas time, but in every place and every part of our lives. What will that look like for you?

Our weekly worship guide can be downloaded here.

John 1:14

14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

We will not be posting a Reflection Guide for any of our Christmas Eve services (the 10:00 a.m. service, or the evening services). We'll pick back up next week!
