Live Dead (Assemblies of God)
Karen and Scott both grew up in Africa as missionary kids. In 1994, they returned to Africa to work with the church in Tanzania. They have always had a passion for seeing the gospel taken to those who do not have access to it. For 18 years they worked with the Tanzania Assemblies of God in strategically planting churches in the least-reached areas and developing a missions program to send Tanzanian missionaries out of the country.
In 2010, their focus shifted to working with Live Dead. Their goal in Live Dead is to plant churches in teams among unreached people groups. They started with teams in East Africa and currently are working with ten teams from Senegal to the Comoros. Live Dead has since expanded and is currently working with unreached people groups around the world.
In 2014, they were asked to join the leadership team for Africa, maintaining engagement with Live Dead but also adding continental strategy and initiatives to their portfolio. Since that time they have helped to develop strategic engagement plans with all of their missionaries across the continent. They are focusing on being better stewards of their resources, being more effective in their engagement, and having greater accountability. They also have the privilege of working with different initiatives such as Africa’s Children, Urban Tribes and Africa Rise.
They have two girls: Megan, who is in college, and Makenzie, who is concluding her senior year.
