Donald Marsden

Frontier Mission

Donald Marsden is an associate director of Frontier Fellowship. Frontier Fellowship’s mission is to mobilize congregations to participate with God in bringing good news of the kingdom into cultures where the church has yet to take root. Frontier Fellowship’s vision is summarized as follows: “For every people, an indigenous church; for every church, a mission vision.”

More specifically, the Frontier Mission seeks to mobilize people and resources for ministry among unreached people groups and developing partnerships with frontline workers to the Arssi Oromo of Ethiopia, as well as workers in West Africa, Russia, Siberia, Hungary, and the Ukraine.

From 1989 to 1997 Donald was a pastor at Third Church, and from 1997 to 2008 he and his family served as missionaries in Russia. Donald's wife Laurie is a covenant partner of Third, active in women’s groups and in Sunday morning discipleship groups. She is a preschool teacher and recently completed a degree in Early Childhood Education. The Marsdens have three children and four grandchildren. Their daughter Hannah and husband Timmy Carter live in Richmond with four children. Their daughter Christiana and husband Thomas Botticello live in the Boston area. Their son Jeremiah is serving in mission as a teacher in Kazakhstan.
