Assembly of God World Mission
Jessie and andrew were born and raised in Richmond but met at the University of Virginia, where Jessie majored in Global Development Studies and Spanish, and Andrew majored in History and Spanish. While at UVA, both of them began to grow deeper in their understanding of God’s heart for all peoples of the earth as they grew deeper in their understanding of his heart for them. After graduation, Jessie moved to Church Hill, where she served on staff with Church Hill Activities and Tutoring for several years, and Andrew moved to Granada, Spain for 10 months to work with the same missionary team with which they currently serve. They were married in April 2016 and made the leap across the pond in the summer of 2017. Their focus in Granada is church planting.
Their team’s vision is to plant faith communities among the local secular people of Granada, primarily through discipleship and evangelism. Jessie and Andrew are the directors of a non- pro t organization called Raíces (“Roots”), which their team leaders created in 2010. In Raíces they serve and engage the 75,000 university students in their city, which they accomplish in three ways: cultural and language exchange, social work, and personal and spiritual development. They are serving a two-year assignment in Granada and are currently in the process of discerning if this is a long-term call or simply a season of overseas service that the Lord has called them to.
