Stop Hunger Now (SHN) is an international hunger relief organization that has sent over 75 million meals overseas to some 76 countries, mostly in the Caribbean, South America and Africa. SHN’s program provides a hands-on opportunity to donate and package dehydrated, high protein, nutritious meals to be sent into crisis areas and feeding programs in schools and orphanages in developing countries around the world.
Our role is to reimburse SHN for the raw materials (rice, soy, vitamin supplements, etc.), the packaging and the transport of the meals at the cost of only 25 cents per meal, and to supply the willing hands to do the packaging. Typically, we do this as a one-day event in January, inviting friends and neighbors to join in this very "hand-on" work of compassion. You can browse photos from our 2012 SHN Event below.
