People on the Move: A Missions Conference

People on the Move - Banner.jpg

This weekend event will help us better understand the global migration going on around the world (and around us!) and the current refugee and immigrant crisis. We'll explore what it feels like to be a refugee or immigrant-- moving through what they may experience-- and turn to how we can get involved directly in our area, or outside our area, assisting internationals through acts of service and giving.

Plan to come, learn, and engage with what it means to love the refugee among us (Deut. 10:19).

Questions? Want to get involved? Contact LJ Jaworski.

The conference will be comprised of different elements that families and individuals can attend or interact with. Further details will be released closer to the conference date, but here are two events we're excited to offer:

SATURDAY EVENING, APRIL 14
LECTURE FROM MARILYN BORST
6:00 p.m. - Doors open & refreshments outside the Parlor

7:00 p.m. - Lecture begins in Sanctuary!

Marilyn Borst, Associate Director for Partnership Development at the Outreach Foundation, will be with us to share on the current refugee crisis in areas around the Middle East. She works with churches around the United States to help them discern God’s call to global engagement while connecting them to that work alongside the Global Church in Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, Asia and the Middle East – a particular area of specialty for her.

SATURDAY, APRIL 14
INTERACTIVE REFUGEE DISPLAY
10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Fellowship Hall

This interactive display in the Fellowship Hall will allow families the opportunity walk through to experience what it is like to be a refugee or immigrant in another country. The display will be an installation of exhibits from artists and interns from World Horizons. More details to come!

SUNDAY, APRIL 15
MARILYN PREACHING AT THIRD

Join us for any of the three services at Third on Sunday morning to hear teaching from Marilyn. This morning will wrap up our weekend!
