Makers Series Q+A: Katelyn Beaty

At 7:00 PM on Friday evening 2/10 in the Third Church Sanctuary, makeRVA and Third Church present the first of our new Makers Series Q+A events, featuring individual “makers” in informal, interview-style conversations that focus on their craft while inviting the RVA creative community to ask questions and compare notes with other practitioners who share their areas of passion and expertise. This inaugural Q+A will feature editor and author Katelyn Beaty.

Katelyn Beaty is the author of A Woman's Place: A Christian Vision for Your Calling in the Office, the Home, and the World (Simon & Schuster, 2016) and an editor at large for Christianity Today magazine. Until recently she was print managing editor of CT, where she served as the youngest and first female managing editor in the magazine's history. She cofounded the women's website Her.meneutics and served as editorial director of This Is Our City, a documentary project that featured Richmond as one of its six focus cities. She has written for The Atlantic, The New York Times, and The Washington Post and currently resides in the Chicago suburbs.

In addition, Katelyn is the keynote speaker at the 2017 CommonGoodRVA conference that takes place Saturday morning, February 11th: Women+Men: At Work for the Common Good.  Click HERE for more on that conference, and learn about Katelyn’s work at KatelynBeaty.com.
