El Salvador Mission Trip
Registration deadline is July 8th! Email Tom Barila at firstname.lastname@example.org to sign up for the trip.
This October 8-13, an 11-member team co-led by Tom Barila and Ben Behrendt will come along-side our mission partner, Sports Outreach Institute and its El Salvador indigenous leader, Humberto Alferez Marenco. Work will be centered around sports ministry, feeding programs, medical support, entrepreneurial training, vocational and public health training, and E.S.L. classes. Additional funds raised by the team have already enabled a Salvadoran family to have new siding and a roof put on their dwelling.
See blog posts from last year's trip below.
Our last day in El Salvador was spent teaching English to both students and adults, visiting and caring for the sick, delivering supplies to local leaders in the name of Christ, and finally looking back over what God had done in the lives and hearts of both the Salvadorans we met and the Third Church Team.
We spent our sabbath in El Salvador exploring from the volcano to the beach, encouraging local believers, and participating in worship and evangelism with our brothers and sisters in Christ.
Saturday's work included medical visits to many sick and injured Salvadoran families and supporting Sports Outreach's annual soccer season kick-off with local political leaders. Click for details and pictures!
Our first full day in El Salvador included visiting schools and supporting the local church in the "developing communities" near San Salvador. Read more and see pictures here.
The El Salvador Mission Team landed with more than 500 pounds of supplies yesterday, and began meeting and praying with some of the families with whom they'll be sharing God's generosity.
Because of Third's generosity, the team will be bringing supplies to El Salvador that will result in thanksgiving to God.
Third's team leaves THIS WEEK for El Salvador, where they'll be sharing the love of Christ and meeting educational, medical, practical and even recreational needs of local communities. Watch this space for updates and to learn how you can support the team through prayer.
